Oriana Ascanio

I am a poet and a techie and the Cretive Director of Resident Writers, a local community for those with a passion for words. By day I work in technology, the rest of the time I work as a Creative Coach with a passion for writing about leadership and the transformative power of courage and compassion. I have been involved with TEDxExeter in various capacities since its first year, finally finding my niche supporting speakers tell their stories with compelling slides. I love the connectedness of our world, the power a determined group of individuals can have, Oxford comas, and all of the nuances found between the lines. When I am not writing, working or doing TEDx stuff I can be found cooking, sewing or walking my two hilarious sausage dogs.

I went to my first meeting with the wonderful TEDxExeter crew out of politeness. I had every intention of leaving after a coffee but somehow I stayed. It changed the way I look at the world, made me go back to university, change jobs and radically think about the impact I wanted to have in the world. That probably ended up being the best cup of coffee I will ever drink in my life
