Bio
Isabel Londono is currently co-founder, promoter, and Executive Director of the Mujeres por Colombia Foundation (Women for Colombia Foundation), as well as the General Director of the Colombia's Women in Business University Forum.
Isabel was born in Cali, Colombia. She has a BA in Industrial Economics and Business Administration from Los Andes University (1980), a diploma in Human Resources Management from the same Univesity and a diploma in Systemic Therapy from Sistemas Humanos. In 1992, she received her MA in International Education, and in 1996, she was awarded her Doctorate degree in Administration, Planning and Social Policy in the Graduate School of Education at Harvard University. She funded her studies with scholarships awarded by the Fulbright Commission, the O.A.S., and Harvard University.
After working for several years in the financial sector, coal exports, and real estate projects, Isabel became the Dean of Continuing Education of the Business School at Los Andes University, where she also taught for several years. Later, as a diplomat, public manager, and international consultant (Creative Associates). Isabel worked in the United States, Mexico, Honduras, Paraguay and Peru, with international NGOs (WF Kellogg Foundation, Oxfam GB), the multilateral bank sector (IADB, World Bank), the Colombian Presidency and the Bogota local Government.
Isabel was the promoter, co-designer, and for 6 years, the Executive Director of COLFUTURO, one of the 5 largest NGO´s of Colombia, as well as one of the largest private scholarship programs in Latin America. During the Antanas Mockus (Bogota major) administration, she was Director of Bogotá's Community Development Agency.
She was also a candidate for Bogotá's City Council in 1997, for the House of Representatives for the Valle del Cauca State in 2002, for the House of Representatives for Bogota in 2010, She was also a member of the campaign team for Noemi Sanin, Presidential Candidate, in 1998, and in 2001-02, member of the Congress Campaign for Antanas Mockus Visionarios in 2006, General Manager of Marta Lucia Ramirez Senate Campaign in 2006, and member of Marta Lucia Ramirez Presidential Campaign between 2007-2009.
Since 2006, Isabel has been doing Management Consulting, Educational Coaching, and Group Facilitation, particularly supporting the Women's Caucus from the Colombian Congress. Isabel is divorced and has a daughter.
