Christopher Stamos is the Managing Partner of the NY offices of Sterling Stamos Capital Management, L.P., and is also the President of Sterling Stamos Corporate Philanthropy and the Sterling Stamos Global Institute. Mr. Stamos worked for the Environmental Protection Agency's Air and Toxics Division, Region 9, and, more recently, for Saatchi & Saatchi. Mr. Stamos spent 10 years in Asia studying and working in China, Japan, and Taiwan. Mr. Stamos earned a BA in Philosophy from Stanford University, where he was awarded a Stanford Golden Grant and a Newton Tatum Scholarship (offered to Rhodes Scholarship finalists) towards a MA in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from Oxford University, graduating with Honors. After attaining fluency in Mandarin at the Cultural University of Beijing, Mr. Stamos received a Mombusho Scholarship towards a MA in East Asian International Relations from the International University of Japan, graduating valedictorian with the Dean's Citation and with distinction. Mr. Stamos is on the board of Malaria No More and the Vice Chairman of Friends Without A Border, which supports the Angkor Hospital for Children, a pediatric treatment and medical training hospital in Siem Reap, Cambodia. He is head of the advisory board for Project Q, a project created by Quincy Jones and the Harvard School of Public Health to recognize extraordinary leadership in advocacy for children. Mr. Stamos is also an active supporter and advocate for the William Jefferson Clinton Foundation’s HIV-AIDS Initiative (CHAI), Partners In Health (PIH), Esperanza International, New Hope for Cambodia Children, and the Cambodian Children’s Fund, among others. Sterling Stamos Capital Management, L.P. is a private investment firm that invests across five major asset classes: absolute return, fixed income, equity, real assets, and private equity. With principal offices in Menlo Park, New York, and Tokyo, Sterling Stamos has over 3.5 billion in assets under management. The Partners at the firm dedicate approximately 10% of their profits every year to charity, primarily supporting programs that provide basic healthcare infrastructure in the developing world.
