Bio
I am a typical sagittarius-outgoing and eager for freedom.
I am an adventruous hiker and a creative thinker.
I'm passionate about
I am passionate about all forms of communication in my own life.
Like drama, I have performed various rolls such as the venomous wife of Macbeth, a poor student on Tagong Plateau, a school girl in troubled adolescence and so on. Charmed by drama, I have even written several scripts and directed them on large or small stages. In my eyes, drama conveys the delicate emotion of characters and the refined philosophy of life to the audience.
Additionally, I have passion for photography, because I can express my feelings and ideas through this visual art. Photos have magic to develop great empathy between me and the viewer.
Finally, I am still fascinated by the philosophy of Existentialism. It has an inexplicable connection with the theory of Taoist, especially concerning the interpretation of birth and death.
The TED story
The first time I heard about TED X is when a video of a TEDXtalk from a controversial Chinese actress Shanshan Yuan was tweeted millions of times on weibo. She talked about how she defended herself against cyber bullying and turned those negative criticisms into positive energy. "Stand up from the dark virtual world", she said. After her talk, the public opinion about her dramatically changes. And her TEDx talk made me realize that confronted with information explosion currently, people are tend to be distracted from the significant topic and get knowledge superficially. What's worse, twisted information is easily spread online, to mislead the public. In the case of the actress Shanshan suffering from barrage of hostile criticism for her, a belief that everyone needs a platform to express their thoughts as well as to hear others' words strongly strikes my heart. And those ideas have power to prevent rumors and even to change the world. TEDx, what a perfect platform! Furthermore, as an old Chinese saying "talking with you for one moment is better than reading books for ten years.", communicating with others is the most direct and effective way to learn others' thoughts, leading people close to the intelligence, critical-thinking and the truth, but away from the ignorance, stereotypes, and pseudo-science. Based on the belief, I am inspired to organize a TEDx event in my school and suggest it to all my peers.
