Gerald Cardinale

Gerry Cardinale is the Managing Partner and Chief Executive Officer of RedBird Capital Partners, and also serves as the firm’s Chief Investment Officer. He is based in New York and oversees RedBird’s investment activity. In 2012, Mr. Cardinale retired from The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. after a 20-year career where he was a Partner of the firm and a senior leader of the Merchant Bank’s private equity investing business in the Americas. Mr. Cardinale led RedBird’s investments in TierPoint, a build-up of data centers across several core regions in the United States and NFL On Location, a recapitalization in partnership with the NFL of its global hospitality and events business. Over the course of his career, Mr. Cardinale invested across a range of industries and developed a particular expertise in the Media, Entertainment and Telecommunications industries, as well as in Sports and Sports Media where he helped create two successful businesses – the Yankees Entertainment & Sports (“YES”) Network which today is the #1 Regional Sports Network in the country, and Legends Hospitality, which is a premium concessions, merchandising and ticketing services company in partnership with the New York Yankees and Dallas Cowboys. Mr. Cardinale received an Honors A.B. from Harvard University and an M.Phil in Politics and Political Theory from Oxford University where he was a Rhodes Scholar.
