Bio
Dr. Nancy Buffington is a former English professor turned public speaking coach. In essence, she helps people find their voices and tell their stories. She’s the official public speaking coach for TEDxBoise and Wisdom 2.0 Connect Boise.
Nancy has an MA and PhD in American Literature from the University of Arizona. During her career in academia she taught public speaking, literature and writing at the University of Arizona, Youngstown State University, the University of Delaware and Stanford.
Nancy's recent books include Ruby Lee and the Very Big Deal, a kids’ story about overcoming the fear of public speaking--it was recognized at the 2014 Idaho Author Awards and North American Book Awards. She’s currently co-authoring a book for adults offering an approach to public speaking that integrates the mind, body and heart.

The TED story
I have the best role at TEDxBoise: coaching the speakers. I get to hear all the speakers' stories--the raw, uncut versions. I get to know each speaker really, really well. And then I get to tear up when they take the stage on the big day.
