Bio

Prosanta Chakrabarty, Ph.D., is a distinguished ichthyologist and evolutionary biologist whose work focuses on the biodiversity, biogeography, phylogenomics, and taxonomy of fishes. With over a dozen newly described fish species and research spanning more than 35 countries, he has made significant contributions to the field. Dr. Chakrabarty's expertise extends to public speaking, where he delivers engaging presentations on STEM, diversity, academia, and collaboration, aiming to inspire curiosity and understanding of evolution and natural history research. He is also the author of "A Guide to Academia," offering valuable insights into navigating academic careers. Through his work and outreach efforts, Dr. Chakrabarty seeks to promote a deeper appreciation for evolution, biodiversity, and the importance of natural history research.
