Miray Yavuz Akkad is an education leader and Director of Academics at Learning Time International Schools in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. With a strong passion for educational innovation, student development, and meaningful learning experiences, she works to create school environments where students are encouraged to think critically, explore their potential, and develop the confidence to make a positive impact. In her leadership role, Miray works closely with educators, students, and school communities to strengthen academic programs, introduce innovative learning opportunities, and build experiences that extend beyond the classroom. Her work includes developing student leadership, STEM and technology programs, enrichment opportunities, and initiatives that encourage communication, creativity, and collaboration. Miray believes that education should not simply prepare students for exams, but should prepare them to understand the world, ask meaningful questions, share ideas, and become thoughtful contributors to their communities. As the organizer of TEDxLearning Time International School, she is passionate about creating a platform where young people can share powerful ideas, inspire one another, and discover that their voices can make a difference.

I'm passionate about people, learning, and the little moments that help young people believe in themselves. I love creating opportunities for students to explore, speak up, try new things, and discover what they are capable of. I believe education is at its best when it inspires curiosity, confidence, and a desire to make a difference.

My TED story began with a simple belief: everyone has a story worth hearing. As an educator, I have seen how powerful it can be when young people are given the confidence and space to share their ideas. TEDx gives me the opportunity to bring that belief to life by creating a stage where our students can be heard, inspired, and inspire others.

People don't know I'm good at turning ideas into reality. I love taking a simple idea, bringing the right people together, and somehow making it happen—even when it seems impossible at first!
