Basem is a professor of visual arts at the Center for Visual Arts, Brookdale Community College. He utilizes the enquiry method of exploration to guide students through the philosophical as well as execution of idea driven art making processes. Outside of the classroom Basem is a contemporary visual artist working primarily with new media and mixed medias producing gallery work that explores social/political issues of identity.

I'm passionate about utilizing an interdisciplinary approach to art collaboration as a tool to bridge social and political divides between humans.
