Bio
Born in Osaka in 1997, Ryosuke was elected Mayor of Ashiya City, Hyogo, making him Japan's youngest mayor in May 2023. He is dedicated to reforming public education and engaging in community development centered around dialogue with a broad spectrum of ages, particularly emphasizing the youth. Ryosuke earned an A.B. in Environmental Science and Engineering from Harvard College in 2022. While at Harvard, he led Ryu-fellow, an educational non-profit that nurtures future global leaders for seven years. He also joined MEXT's Central Council for Education as a specialist committee member in 2025 to contribute to shaping the national curriculum.
