Bio

I am a Civil Engineer and Project Management professional from Aden, Yemen, with experience in construction, infrastructure, engineering design, and business development. Throughout my career, I have worked with United High Business (UHB) and as an independent consultant, contributing to projects that prioritize quality, sustainability, and community impact. I hold a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (Environmental Engineering) and enjoy working at the intersection of engineering, innovation, and leadership. Beyond my technical work, I am passionate about empowering young people, supporting meaningful initiatives, and creating opportunities that improve lives. As a volunteer with TEDxAdenYouth, I witnessed the power of ideas to inspire change and bring communities together. I believe that combining technical expertise with creativity, collaboration, and purpose is the key to building a better future.

I'm passionate about

I am passionate about civil engineering, sustainable development, entrepreneurship, and creating practical solutions to real-world challenges. I enjoy leading projects, improving construction quality, and exploring innovative approaches that make infrastructure safer and more sustainable. I also care deeply about youth empowerment, volunteering, leadership development, and mentoring others. I believe that learning never stops, and I am always looking for opportunities to grow, collaborate, and contribute to projects that create lasting social impact.

An idea worth spreading

The greatest infrastructure we can build is not made of concrete or steel—it is built by investing in people. When we empower individuals with knowledge, opportunity, and trust, they become capable of solving the challenges facing their communities. Engineering can build roads and buildings, but education, collaboration, and innovation build resilient societies. Every meaningful project begins with an idea, and every idea has the potential to transform lives when people choose to act on it.

The TED story

My TED journey began as a volunteer with TEDxAdenYouth, where I had the opportunity to contribute behind the scenes to an event dedicated to sharing powerful ideas. It was an experience that taught me the value of teamwork, leadership, and the impact of a shared vision. Working alongside passionate organizers and volunteers showed me that extraordinary events are built through dedication, collaboration, and countless unseen efforts. Seeing speakers inspire the audience reminded me that everyone has a story worth sharing and that ideas truly have the power to change perspectives. Being part of TEDx strengthened my commitment to lifelong learning, meaningful conversations, and using my skills to make a positive difference in my community.

Things you might not know

Many people know me as a civil engineer, but fewer know that I enjoy bringing people, ideas, and opportunities together. I am skilled at organizing projects, solving problems under pressure, and finding practical solutions when challenges arise. Beyond engineering, I have worked in import and export, gaining experience in international business and cross-cultural collaboration. I have also worked as a medical interpreter, helping bridge language barriers between healthcare professionals and patients to ensure clear and accurate communication. In addition, I am actively involved in my family’s restaurant business, where I have gained hands-on experience in customer service, operations, team management, and entrepreneurship. Working across engineering, business, healthcare, and hospitality has taught me how to adapt, communicate effectively, and lead in diverse environments. Whether on a construction site, in a business meeting, in a healthcare setting, or as part of a volunteer team, I enjoy connecting people, simplifying complex ideas, and working toward meaningful outcomes that create a positive impact.
