Amresh Kumar

Amresh Kumar completed his MPhil from Delhi University and graduate studies from the University of Maryland, College Park, USA. He has over 26 years of experience in Education and has worked as a Teacher and Principal in residential schools run by Krishnamurti Foundation India. He also served as the Dean of Student Welfare at Vellore International School, Chennai. Amresh Kumar has been instrumental in strengthening the school culture, recruiting and mentoring teachers, and consolidating school administration, and was actively involved in several activities with senior students and teachers, including the mentoring programme, the student council, and club initiatives.

Creating school environments where students and teachers grow together in awareness, sensitivity, and freedom. I’m passionate about reimagining educational spaces so learning becomes a lifelong, meaningful journey rather than merely a pursuit of outcomes.

Education must help us understand ourselves. When learning becomes a process of inquiry, into our minds, relationships, and the world around us, it opens possibilities for transformation that academic achievement alone cannot offer.

I have long believed that ideas, when shared authentically, can reshape our understanding of education and the role it plays in our lives. TED’s mission of spreading ideas resonates deeply with my own journey, and I hope to contribute perspectives grounded in learning, awareness, and the transformative potential of education.

Building quiet, reflective conversations that help students and teachers look inward. I enjoy creating spaces, formal and informal, where deeper questions about life and learning can emerge naturally.
