The TED story
Shonda Rhimes’ “My Year of Saying Yes to Everything” is my favorite TED Talk because it captures the power of stepping into discomfort as a catalyst for growth. Rhimes shares how, even at the height of her career, she had lost her sense of joy and how a simple commitment to saying “yes” to the things that scared her reignited her passion, creativity, and purpose. Her vulnerability and clarity resonated deeply with me. This talk ultimately shaped my own decision to say “yes” to experiences that would stretch me, including attending London Business School and immersing myself in a truly global community. It’s a reminder I carry into my role with TEDxLondonBusinessSchool: that transformative ideas often begin with one brave, unexpected “yes.”
