Majora Carter is an internationally renowned urban revitalization strategy consultant, real estate developer and Peabody Award winning broadcaster. She is responsible for the creation and successful implementation of numerous green-infrastructure projects, policies, and job training & placement systems. After establishing several organizations to carry on this work, she has built on that foundation with innovative ventures and insights in real estate developments designed to help move Americans out of poverty. Her long list of awards and honorary degrees include accolades from groups as diverse as Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation to John Podesta’s Center for American Progress, as well as a MacArthur “genius” Fellowship. Majora embodies the American Dream. She has continually set new standards of excellence with projects in her South Bronx community, while expanding her reach nationally and internationally. Her philanthropic pursuits and business interests have all pointed toward greater self-esteem and economic potential for low-income people everywhere.

Climate adaptation through Horticultural Infrastructure has the potential to meet regional infrastructure needs while providing therapeutic forms of EMPLOYMENT for our "Most Expensive Citizens". These are primarily people coming out of Prison and Vets coming back from Mid-East wars, and Elderly Americans. These 3 groups all suffer from a sense of "social isolation" that leads to other dysfunctional behavior - costing government billions in social services. We can adapt our cities for higher temperatures and changing water management needs while creating jobs and new economic opportunities for small businesses.
