I am a…

Educator/Teacher, Project manager

Bio

I am an education professional with a Master of Education from Edith Cowan University, Australia, and over 15 years of experience in language teaching and academic leadership. Since 2008, I have taught learners across diverse contexts—secondary schools, universities, and language centers—while actively engaging in international student exchange programs in the United States, Australia, Singapore, and Thailand. As Vice Director of the Foreign Languages Center at Nguyen Tat Thanh University in Ho Chi Minh City, I am responsible for strategic management, faculty development, and the coordination of academic programs and collaborative initiatives. I currently oversee a team of more than 100 lecturers and staff, and lead projects that promote innovation in teaching, research, and international cooperation. My professional interests lie in education management, linguistics, and cross-cultural learning. I am deeply committed to advancing language education, fostering global partnerships, and creating meaningful opportunities for learners and educators to connect, collaborate, and grow.

I'm passionate about

I am deeply passionate about advancing language education and building global learning communities. My work focuses on bridging theory and practice in language teaching, empowering both teachers and students to thrive in an interconnected world. Over the years, I have led exchange programs across the United States, Australia, Singapore, and Thailand, creating meaningful opportunities for learners to experience new cultures and perspectives. I am particularly enthusiastic about: Developing innovative teaching methodologies that enhance learner autonomy and creativity; Training and mentoring educators to build sustainable professional growth; Expanding cross-cultural partnerships that prepare students to become confident global citizens. Creating academic competitions and workshops that encourage collaboration, critical thinking, and lifelong learning. For me, education is not only about mastering knowledge, but also about inspiring transformation, resilience, and global responsibility.

An idea worth spreading

Language education must go beyond classrooms and textbooks to become a platform for global connection and collaboration. In today’s rapidly changing world, learners need more than grammar or vocabulary; they need intercultural competence, adaptability, and critical thinking. My idea worth spreading is that foreign language education, when combined with international collaboration and experiential learning, can shape future leaders who are both academically competent and globally responsible. Through building strong partnerships between institutions, fostering professional development for teachers, and creating engaging learning environments, we can ensure that education not only prepares students for exams, but also equips them with the mindset and skills to contribute meaningfully to society.

The TED story

My TED journey begins in classrooms where I first realized that language education can open doors far beyond academic achievement—it can change lives. From my early years of teaching in 2008 to managing international exchange programs across multiple countries, I have seen how language connects people and transforms perspectives. The pivotal moment for me came when working with exchange students from diverse backgrounds. I witnessed how learning a language was not just about communication, but about gaining confidence, building friendships, and discovering new possibilities for the future. Later, as Vice Director of the Foreign Languages Center at Nguyen Tat Thanh University, I recognized the power of scaling these opportunities—by supporting over 100 educators, designing international collaborations, and leading academic initiatives that impact thousands of learners. If I were to deliver a TED Talk, it would be about “Language as a Bridge to Global Citizenship.” I would share how empowering students and teachers through innovative teaching, international exchanges, and academic collaboration can break down barriers and create new opportunities. My message is simple: when we treat language education as a bridge, we not only help learners communicate—we prepare them to thrive as global citizens.
