Phoebe Tickell

Phoebe Tickell is a scientist, systems thinker, and founder of Moral Imaginations, an activist design lab dedicated to catalysing just, regenerative futures by igniting humankind's moral imagination. Their vision is to reach 100 million imagination activists by 2035 - that’s 1 in 5 organisations with an imagination activist by 2035. They work with their Moral Imagination approach, adopted by Camden Council, IKEA, the UK Government and London Marathon to shift mindsets and drive deep, systemic change. Their work pioneers practices that bridge inner and outer transformation, introducing radical approaches into the heart of institutions to make better futures possible. Moral Imaginations has worked with over 75 organisations and trained over 2000 ambassadors in their methodology since 2020, including a groundbreaking methodology that has introduced a more-than-human policy making tool into UK government. In 2022 they partnered with the London Borough of Camden in an award-winning project to embed Moral Imagination training into the council, equipping 32 Moral Imagineers who trained 300 and then 3000 of Camden staff and residents. Their projects demonstrate the practical application of imagination to change real systems and have fun while doing it. In 2022, Phoebe coined the term "Imagination Activist" to describe someone who create the new, rather than fights the old. Phoebe is a Scientific Advisor to the Inner Development Goals and an Edmund Hillary Fellow, holding a degree in Biological Natural Sciences from Cambridge University.
