About Tracey

Bio

I’m a small business owner, nonprofit founder, and someone who’s passionate about helping young people become confident, resilient leaders. Everything I do, whether it’s through my work, my nonprofit, or just everyday life is rooted in purpose, connection, and community. I started Taking Shape, a nonprofit focused on helping youth grow through life’s challenges, because I’ve always believed in the power of mentorship and showing up for the next generation. We create spaces where young people feel seen, supported, and empowered to lead—not just someday, but right now. We talk about real life, real challenges, and how to bounce back stronger. It’s about helping them understand that they don’t have to have it all figured out-they just need the tools and support to keep going. Outside of the nonprofit, I also run a small business, which has taught me so much about resilience, creativity, and the importance of staying grounded. I bring those lessons into everything I do, especially when I’m mentoring or working with youth. It’s important to me that they know success isn’t always a straight path, and that’s okay. Family is a huge part of my life. They keep me centered and remind me why this work matters. I try to live out the same values at home that I encourage in others; kindness, integrity, and just showing up with your whole heart. This is my first time attending TEDx, and I’m excited to be surrounded by people who are passionate about making a difference. I’m here to learn, grow, and connect and hopefully inspire others to keep pushing forward, even when things get hard. My hope is that through everything I do, I can help shape stronger, more resilient leaders who believe in themselves and in the impact they can make.
