About Jyoti
Bio
I am an educator, mentor, and lifelong learner with over eight years of experience teaching foreign languages at the high school level. My passion lies in guiding students beyond the classroom, encouraging them to explore opportunities that enhance their creativity, leadership, and critical thinking skills. As an advocate for holistic learning, I have played an active role in school sports and annual events, managing discipline, and overseeing costume design and arrangements, ensuring that students experience a well-rounded education.
Believing that learning extends beyond textbooks, I led students in the Learning Through Monuments – Pune History Festival, where we successfully created a Palkhi monument, bringing history to life through experiential learning. Currently, I am spearheading a TED-Ed event for middle and high school students, providing them with a platform to develop confidence, refine their public speaking skills, and explore thought-provoking ideas.
My journey as an educator is enriched by a diverse professional background. In the hospitality industry, I developed exceptional customer service and travel management skills while working with TUI and Sofitel. In the banking sector, my role as a Recovery Officer at the Bank of Scotland strengthened my analytical and problem-solving abilities. Additionally, working in England as a Business Support Officer for community children's services in London boroughs gave me invaluable insights into student welfare and development. My decade-long tenure at the Taj Mahal Hotel in Mumbai, as an executive in the Food & Beverage department, further refined my leadership, organization, and communication skills—qualities I now bring into my educational practice.
Driven by a deep commitment to education, mentorship, and experiential learning, I strive to empower students to think independently, express themselves with confidence, and embrace a lifelong love for learning.
I'm passionate about
"Education is My Purpose, Teaching is My Passion"
I don’t just teach—I ignite curiosity, nurture confidence, and inspire young minds to think beyond the classroom. Education, for me, is not about rote learning or memorization; it’s about empowering students with the skills, mindset, and passion to navigate the world with confidence.
My journey as an educator has been defined by a deep commitment to mentorship, experiential learning, and leadership development. Whether I’m guiding students through foreign language learning, organizing TED-Ed events, leading historical projects like the Palkhi monument, or fostering real-world learning experiences, my goal remains the same: to create fearless learners who question, explore, and lead.
I am passionate about creating engaging, meaningful, and transformative learning environments where students don’t just gain knowledge but discover their own potential. Teaching is not just my profession—it’s my mission to inspire, uplift, and shape the next generation of changemakers.
Education is not about preparing students for exams—it’s about preparing them for life. My passion lies in ensuring that every student I teach walks away not just with knowledge, but with the confidence to create their own future.
An idea worth spreading
"Beyond the Classroom: Redefining Education for the Real World"
The Big Idea
Education isn’t just about memorizing facts—it’s about building thinkers, leaders, and problem-solvers. The real challenge? Our classrooms still prioritize rote learning over real-world application. If we want to prepare students for the future, we must break free from the traditional model and embrace experiential learning, mentorship, and platforms like TED-Ed to equip students with confidence, creativity, and critical life skills.
Why This Matters More Than Ever;
Knowledge Without Application is Powerless
The world is evolving, but education is stuck in the past. Students cram for exams, yet struggle to apply concepts in real life.
Experiential learning—through hands-on projects, public speaking, and cultural initiatives—helps students internalize knowledge and turn it into action.
Every Student Deserves a Voice & a Stage
Confidence isn’t built through textbooks—it’s developed through expression, leadership, and real-world problem-solving.
Giving students platforms like TED-Ed empowers them to think independently, articulate their ideas, and challenge the status quo.
The Future Demands Adaptability, Not Just Academics
Success today requires resilience, creativity, and critical thinking—qualities often overlooked in traditional education.
Encouraging students to engage in projects like community initiatives, history festivals, and leadership roles builds the mindset they need to thrive.
Holistic Learning Creates Future-Ready Individuals
Merging disciplines—history with storytelling, language with public speaking, arts with leadership—makes learning dynamic, engaging, and impactful.
Education should not just teach students how to pass exams, but how to navigate life.
My Perspective: Learning Through Experience Changes Lives
With a career spanning education, hospitality, banking, and community service, I’ve seen the power of learning beyond the classroom. Whether guiding students in the Palkhi monument project, TED-Ed events, or leadership initiatives, I’ve witnessed firsthand how real-world experiences shape confident, capable individuals.
The Call to Action: Break the Walls of the Classroom
We need to redefine education—not as a system of grades, but as a journey of discovery, growth, and self-expression. The future belongs to those who can think, adapt, and lead—and it’s time we start preparing students for exactly that.

The TED story
My TED Story: Igniting Minds, Amplifying Voices
Education is more than teaching—it is the art of igniting curiosity, inspiring confidence, and amplifying voices that deserve to be heard. As an educator, I have always believed that every student carries ideas, stories, and perspectives that have the power to shape the world. But far too often, these voices go unheard, buried under the pressure of traditional learning, exams, and societal expectations. My mission is to change that.
I have spent years fostering a learning environment where students don’t just absorb knowledge but actively engage, express, and lead. Whether in my language classroom, on stage at a TED-Ed event, or through hands-on projects like the Palkhi monument, I have seen firsthand the transformative power of self-expression.
TED-Ed became the perfect platform to take this vision further. It is not just an event—it is a stage for bold ideas, a movement of empowered storytelling, and a catalyst for change. I have witnessed students evolve from hesitant speakers to confident presenters, from passive learners to passionate changemakers. And in every moment, I am reminded that education is not about filling minds with facts—it is about lighting a fire within them.
But igniting minds is only the beginning. My goal is to ensure that once a voice is found, it is never silenced again. I want my students to carry their confidence beyond the classroom, to question the world around them, to challenge norms, and to fearlessly articulate their beliefs. True education should not confine—it should liberate. It should not dictate—it should empower.
TED-Ed is more than just a project for me—it is my commitment to shaping a new generation of thinkers, speakers, and leaders. Because when we ignite young minds and amplify their voices, we don’t just change individuals—we transform the future.
The world doesn’t need more followers; it needs more voices. And I am here to help amplify them.
