I am a…

Educator/Teacher

Bio

I am an educator, mentor, and career counsellor with over 15 years of experience guiding students and professionals towards clarity and confidence in their future paths. Certified by UCLA, ISCHS, and Cambridge, I specialise in combining career development frameworks with psychometric tools, soft skills training, and global exposure initiatives. I have pioneered programmes such as virtual internships, interdisciplinary career modules, and international student exchange, ensuring that students graduate with not only academic strength but also practical experience and cultural awareness. My collaborations with Cambridge Press, ONGC, Dale Carnegie, and international universities reflect my commitment to bridging education and industry. Alongside student counselling, I train aspiring counsellors and teachers, many of whom are now leading impactful initiatives. Recognitions from Cambridge, UPES, and ONGC affirm the value of this work. At heart, I remain a teacher who believes that clarity, curiosity, and courage are the most important tools we can give young people for an uncertain future.

I'm passionate about

I am passionate about helping young people discover who they are before they decide what to do. Too often, students follow trends or external pressure rather than their own interests. My passion is to show them how their strengths, values, and aspirations can shape meaningful careers. I am also deeply committed to making career guidance inclusive. Whether through psychometrics, AI powered tools, or global connect programmes, I want every student, regardless of geography or background to access world class opportunities and clarity about their future.

An idea worth spreading

Career counselling must evolve from advice giving to skill building. My idea worth spreading is that navigating careers should be taught as a life skill, not an occasional intervention. In a world where industries change faster than textbooks, the ability to question, adapt, and design flexible career paths is far more valuable than memorising information. Every student deserves access to guidance that nurtures clarity, curiosity, and courage. If we shift from telling students what to do, to teaching them how to decide, we prepare them not just for jobs, but for life itself.

The TED story

My story begins with a familiar question: “Ma’am, what should I do with my life?” Over years of counselling, I realised students don’t lack talent, they lack clarity. They don’t need ready made answers, they need frameworks, experiences, and mentors to guide discovery. That insight inspired me to create a new model: career counselling not as a one-time event but as a continuous ecosystem. I introduced readiness modules, virtual internships, and global connect programmes to give students exposure before they made decisions. The result? Students once paralysed by confusion became confident explorers of diverse career paths. Parents once anxious about unconventional choices became strong supporters. My TED story is about transforming guidance into empowerment, ensuring every student leaves school with clarity, adaptability, and aspiration.

Things you might not know

People often know me as a counsellor and trainer, but few realise I am good at simplifying complex theories into practical tools that students and parents can use instantly. I am also skilled at recognising hidden potential in students, abilities they themselves often overlook and showing them how to channel it into career opportunities. Another strength is bridging the generational gap between parents and teenagers, creating conversations where both feel understood and supported.
