Bio

Amy Ben-Horin is a dynamic coach and consultant dedicated to unlocking inherent potential in individuals and organizations. In her impactful 2016 TEDxVail talk, "Earth's Mightiest Heroes," Amy introduced the C.A.R.I.N.G. acronym: Compassion, Adventure, Relationships, Integrity, Nature, and Giving Back. She demonstrated how these core values empower individuals, especially youth, to overcome limitations and unleash their innate "superpowers". Today, Amy integrates these very principles into her work as a coach and consultant. She guides clients through transformative journeys, fostering compassion for themselves and others , encouraging them to embrace adventure through challenging growth opportunities , and emphasizing the power of strong relationships and collaborative teams. Her coaching instills integrity by helping individuals align with their true selves and use their abilities for good , often connecting them with the clarifying power of nature , and reinforcing the importance of giving back to their communities. Amy's profound belief in these values and her experience in cultivating innate strengths have naturally led her to advise the next generation of speakers for TEDxVail Next's 2025 talks. She leverages her unique insight to help these emerging voices craft and deliver messages that resonate with the same depth and transformative power as her own, continuing her mission to unlock superpowers and inspire a better future.

I'm passionate about

I am deeply passionate about creating a more conscious and connected world—one where leaders are not just successful, but truly fulfilled, and where businesses grow in service of something greater. I am devoted to helping people rediscover their inner clarity, step into alignment, and lead with courage and meaning. Many of my insights and approaches are inspired by my time in nature and with animals—especially my horses—who have been some of my most profound teachers. Their presence, honesty, and intuitive feedback invite stillness, truth, and embodiment in ways no spreadsheet or strategy ever could. Some of the most transformative work I do with clients happens not across a desk, but in the field—quite literally—where horses help surface what’s unspoken and illuminate the path forward. Whether guiding a founder through a pivotal transition, supporting a TEDx speaker in finding their voice, or helping someone reconnect with their purpose, my passion lies in co-creating a space where exploring what’s possible becomes a reality.

An idea worth spreading

What if the true measure of success isn’t what we build, but how fully we experience the life we’re creating? For years, I’ve worked alongside visionary leaders—people with huge ideas, beautiful intentions, and hearts on fire to make a difference. Yet again and again, I see the same quiet ache: we’re building meaningful things while slowly disconnecting from the meaning within ourselves. We’ve mastered productivity but forgotten our own BEINGNESS. We’re chasing growth, but often at the expense of our own joy, health, or fulfillment. My idea worth spreading is simple—but not easy: Experience life fully, and share it authentically. To experience life fully means to slow down enough to notice it—to feel the sunrise, the exhale, the laughter, the discomfort, the gratitude, the “so what” behind every pursuit. It means leading and living from awareness rather than autopilot. It means returning, again and again, to what makes us feel most alive and letting go of the stories and identities that no longer serve us. When we learn to experience life fully, we start leading differently. Our presence deepens. Our words carry weight because they come from alignment. We create from abundance instead of exhaustion. But that’s only half of the equation. Experiencing life fully is the practice. Sharing it authentically is the impact. When we speak from authenticity, we give others permission to pause, to breathe, to ask better questions: Why am I doing this? Who am I becoming in the process? How do I want to feel while I create and contribute? That’s the heartbeat behind 52 MindFULL Mondays—a year-long journey that invites leaders to reflect, recalibrate, and recommit each week to the life they actually want to live. It’s mindfulness in motion: awareness turned into action. Each Monday is a small reset, a gentle nudge to bring our attention back to what matters most. Because mindfulness isn’t just about stillness—it’s about seeing clearly. It’s the space between intention and reaction where our most meaningful leadership choices are made. And if enough of us learn to live this way—to experience life fully and share it authentically—then our boardrooms, classrooms, communities, and families all begin to change. Not through louder voices or bigger strategies, but through quieter, truer ones. We don’t need more leaders doing more. We need more leaders being more. More awake. More aligned. More human. That’s what I want to invite the world to explore: What might shift if we stopped chasing a version of success that disconnects us from ourselves—and instead, recommitted to a life that we can fully experience, and share authentically? Because experiencing life fully isn’t just a practice. It’s a constant re-commitment of presence. And when we live and lead from that space—everyone rises.

The TED story

In 2014, Amy Ben-Horin co-founded and became the Executive Director at Ute Springs Experiential Learning Center. This foundational work directly inspired her 2016 TEDxVail talk, "Earth's Mightiest Heroes". In that talk, Amy unveiled the C.A.R.I.N.G. acronym – Compassion, Adventure, Relationships, Integrity, Nature, and Giving Back – as the key to unlocking the inherent superpowers within us all. Since then, Amy has seamlessly transitioned her work to the "adult" realm as a dedicated coach and consultant, applying these same core values. She now has the profound opportunity to support business leaders in unlocking their full potential and co-creating lasting positive impacts within their communities. This deep understanding of human potential and the power of the C.A.R.I.N.G. framework has naturally led her to advise the next generation of speakers for TEDxVail Next, guiding them on their journey to share their own transformative ideas for the 2025 talks.

Things you might not know

Most people don’t know that I have a keen ability to notice and understand the natural world in the Rocky Mountains—whether it’s tracking subtle changes in the landscape, reading animal behavior, or sensing patterns that reveal what’s unfolding around us. It’s a quiet skill, but one that’s shaped how I see everything, including people.
