Educator/Teacher

Bio

I am an educator with 28 years of experience in the field of education. I teach Mathematics and serve as the Head of the Department while also overseeing the administrative functioning of the school as the Headmaster. I was honoured with the Inspirational Teacher of the Year Award (2012) conferred upon me by SOE Global Education. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Science and Master’s degrees in Education and Sociology. I have a deep passion for teaching and mentoring students, and I take pride in fostering a learning environment that encourages curiosity and growth. Beyond academics, I love to travel, learn about different cultures, play sports, and listen to music in my leisure time.

I'm passionate about

I am passionate about guiding teachers and students alike, promoting leadership, collaboration, and lifelong learning within the school community. Through promoting sports, music, and extracurricular engagement, I would like to emphasise the importance of balance, creativity, and mental well-being.

An idea worth spreading

I strongly believe that students should have the freedom to choose the subjects they are truly interested in, rather than being constrained by rigid, one-size-fits-all curricula. When students pursue what excites them, they are more motivated, engaged, and likely to excel. Providing this freedom encourages curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning, while allowing each student to develop their unique strengths and passions. Education should be about guiding students to discover their potential, not forcing them into predetermined paths. The vision: A learning environment where students are active participants in shaping their education, leading to deeper understanding, personal growth, and lifelong love for learning.

Areas of expertise

Implementing new teaching methods, integrating technology in learning, and fostering creative problem-solving, Inspiring students to achieve academic and personal growth, Leveraging travel and cultural exposure to create inclusive and diverse learning environments

Things you might not know

People may not know that I am particularly good at letting go of mistakes and moving forward quickly. I believe that dwelling on errors slows growth, so I focus on learning from experiences and embracing the next opportunity with a positive mindset. This resilience helps me guide students and colleagues with patience and perspective.
