Prof. Khalid Lahyani is a sociologist and professor at ENSAM Casablanca, and Director of the Mohamed Sekkat University Library at Hassan II University of Casablanca. His work explores the intersection of sociology, education, and artificial intelligence in academic environments. He leads major initiatives in library innovation, research visibility, and digital humanities. He is also the organizer and curator of TEDxUH2C 2025, themed “Rethinking the Human in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.”

As a sociologist and as the director of a university library, I’ve always been fascinated by the way knowledge, language, and technology shape our lives — how they influence not only what we know, but who we become. In this fast-moving world of algorithms and artificial intelligence, I often find myself coming back to a simple question: What does it still mean to be human? TED offers a space where we can slow down and truly think about that. Organizing TEDxUH2C 2025 is, for me, a deeply personal journey — a way to bring together voices that inspire: students, researchers, artists, dreamers. Together, we’ll explore the fragile and powerful ties between memory, machines, and imagination. Because TED isn’t just about spreading ideas — it’s about imagining the kind of world we want to live in.
