Bio

I’m Gurkirat (Ronnie) Kainth, a student at the University of Toronto, specializing in Digital Enterprise Management. I explore how technology, strategy, and storytelling can be used to drive meaningful change. Through my work as Chair of TEDxUofTMississauga and Executive Representative at Forbes, I’ve had the opportunity to help shape conversations that matter. Whether it's building platforms for new ideas, supporting community-driven events, or collaborating with global leaders, I’m passionate about creating spaces that inspire action and connection. Over the years, I’ve worked across different roles in marketing, design, and digital transformation, but what guides me most is the desire to build things that have real-world impact. I believe in using systems, creativity, and collaboration to make complex ideas more accessible and to support people and projects that are working toward a better future.

I'm passionate about

I’m passionate about creating experiences that bring people closer to ideas, to one another, and to a greater sense of purpose. Whether it’s leading a project, designing a system, or composing music, I’m drawn to the intersection of creativity, structure, and human connection. My work often lives where strategy meets storytelling. I’m motivated by the challenge of making complex ideas more accessible and meaningful. Whether this is through digital platforms, community events, or content creation. In everything I do, I value clarity, intention, and impact. I care deeply about thoughtful work that solves real problems and resonates with people. For me, passion is about showing up with curiosity, collaborating with purpose, and building something that lasts.

An idea worth spreading

We’re constantly told to scale fast, reach more people, and optimize everything. But somewhere along the way, I think we’ve started designing for efficiency instead of empathy. My idea worth spreading is this: Tech and Innovation should serve people and not the other way around. Behind every workflow, app, or campaign are real human needs. And when we lose sight of that, we risk building things that are functional but forgettable. As a student of Digital Enterprise Management, and through my work with TEDx, Forbes, and digital strategy teams, I’ve learned that impact doesn’t come from just moving fast. It comes from moving with intention. From building platforms that amplify unheard voices, simplify complexity, and inspire meaningful action. To me, innovation isn’t about having the smartest idea, it’s about designing spaces where people feel seen, supported, and empowered to lead. We don’t need more noise. We need clarity. We don’t need more tools. We need systems rooted in purpose. Because in the end, the best ideas aren’t just shared. They’re felt, lived, and carried forward by people who believe in them.

The TED story

My TED story started when I joined TEDxUofTMississauga as the Marketing Director. I was excited to be part of something meaningful, to help share ideas that could inspire people. At first, I focused on the creative side: building the brand, growing our audience, and promoting the event. But as time went on, I started to see the bigger picture. TED wasn’t just about promotion; it was about creating space for ideas that matter. Not long after, I was given the opportunity to take on the role of Chair. It was unexpected, but deeply meaningful. Being trusted with the responsibility of leading the club pushed me to grow, both as a leader and as a person. I began to understand what goes into building an experience that truly impacts people: the planning, the late nights, the teamwork, and most of all, the belief that ideas can spark real change. Since then, TED has become more than just a project or a role. It has shaped how I think, how I work, and how I connect with others. It has taught me the value of storytelling, the power of listening, and the importance of giving people a platform to be heard. And honestly, I’m just getting started...

Things you might not know

Here are a few things that people may not realize I am good at.... 1. I have a genuine obsession with perfumery......from decoding fragrance notes to matching someone’s energy to the perfect scent. It’s part intuition, part chemistry, and honestly, a little bit of magic. 2. While I’ve never been overly formal about music theory, I’ve developed a strong instinct for rhythm, tone, and improvisation. Guitar is how I think, unwind, and sometimes communicate better than words allow. 3. Learning deeply, just because. I can easily fall down a research rabbit hole about anything from postmodern architecture to antique firearm mechanics. If it’s detailed, layered, and niche. I’m probably hooked.
