My name is Monyca Hap, and I’m a recent Management of Information Systems graduate from Paragon International University. My passion for technology started in high school when I joined Technovation Girls Cambodia. Together with my team, we built an app idea to solve real problems in our community, and we proudly won Second Place at the Technovation Cambodia National Pitch in 2019. That experience showed me that technology can be a powerful tool to help people and improve lives, and that young women could innovate, create, and lead solutions that matter. Today, I work at the Digital Government Committee (DGC) of Cambodia, helping to make government services more innovative, more accessible, and more citizen-friendly. I enjoy working with different teams and ensuring technology is simple, practical, and available. In 2024, I was honored to be featured in GovInsider’s Women in GovTech, which celebrated women making an impact in public sector technology. It reminded me how important it is to see women in leadership, and how our stories can inspire others. As a young woman in tech, I want to show others that your background doesn’t limit your future; your drive and passion do.

I'm passionate about using technology to improve public services and people's lives. Transparent and straightforward digital solutions can solve real-world problems in meaningful ways. I'm especially committed to empowering young people and women in tech. I enjoy working with others to share knowledge and build better systems. I'm interested in tools like QR codes, blockchain, and open-source platforms that can make services more efficient and accessible. For me, technology is not just about innovation; it's about creating solutions that are inclusive, practical, and truly helpful for everyone.

When we design technology that includes young people, women, and underserved communities, we don’t just create solutions, we create equal opportunities and lasting impact.
