Siqi (Clementine) Huang is currently a high school student with a keen passion for international relations, politics, and global economics. Over five years of participating in poverty alleviation programs, she grew from a content editor to one of the leaders overseeing the entire initiative. She has also shared her personal experiences and insights through speeches and writing. In academics, Siqi serves as the President of the Student Government, Secretary-General of the Interscholastic Model United Nations, and holds leadership roles in various other organizations. She dedicates significant effort to fostering a strong sense of community and promoting deep-level diversity. She hopes to motivate and inspire others to take bold, effective action while nurturing a mindset of curiosity. She believes an informed public is the foundation of a good society and that spreading diverse ideas is one of its most essential aspects.

Sharing your true ideas is the best way to love your community!! Through sharing, we invest ourselves fully in the people and places we call home. You may face silence, indifference, or even ridicule, but real change begins when we stay true to our convictions while remaining open to others' perspectives. This delicate balance between steadfastness and receptivity is what ultimately ignites transformation.

My TED journey began when I was seven years old, after hearing Adora Svitak’s speech about 'childish' thinking and what adults can learn from children. From that moment on, I became a devoted listener of TED Talks. Speakers like Jessica McCabe, Bill Gates, Lei Cheng, and Yeomi Park motivated me to pursue knowledge, inspired me to speak my truth, and revealed the hidden inequalities and struggles beneath society’s polished surface. One of my most memorable experiences occurred during a poverty alleviation trip. I interviewed a girl from an underprivileged family about her education. Despite her parents not speaking English and her poor learning conditions, she excelled in the language. She explained how TED Talks gave her both encouragement in life and practical English skills. In that moment, I realized the true impact of TED. Now as a high school student, I am eager to organize a TED event in order to motivate the spread different ideas around my own community.
