Bio

Galina Angarova is the Executive Director of the Securing Indigenous Peoples’ Rights in the Green Economy (SIRGE) Coalition, a global alliance dedicated to protecting the rights, dignity, and sovereignty of Indigenous Peoples amidst the growing demand for energy transition minerals. She is an Indigenous leader and human rights advocate with over two decades of experience at the intersection of environmental justice, Indigenous Peoples' rights, and global policy. Her work spans grassroots organizing, philanthropic advising, and strategic advocacy, including contributions to international climate and biodiversity negotiations. She has served in various leadership roles with Indigenous Peoples' and civil society organizations and is a current Global Advisor to the Wildlife Conservation Society, member of the Indigenous Peoples Advisory Group at the Global Environmental Facility, and a Board Member at A Growing Culture. Passionate about shifting power to Indigenous communities, Galina brings a strong commitment to equity, systems change, and sustainable futures for all.
