The TED story
My passion for ideas began by watching TED Talks. I was fascinated by how a simple story, a clear message, or a bold idea could change how someone thinks. Then I read Talk Like TED by Carmine Gallo—and something clicked. I realized ideas aren’t just for thinkers—they’re for doers, and they can move people.
The challenge wasn’t just having ideas—it was finding a platform where those ideas could matter. I didn’t want to just think for thinking’s sake. I wanted to build something that could have a global impact on communities. But for a long time, I didn’t know where to begin. I felt like I had a voice, but no microphone.
What people don’t often see is that I’m good at connecting abstract ideas into practical solutions. While others see theory, I see possibility. I can look at a big concept and ask, ‘How can this work for real people, in real communities?’ That realization helped me find my direction—not just as a thinker, but as a builder.
That’s why I applied for a license to organize TEDxBeninCity—the first TEDx event designed to cover the entire city. It’s more than a stage; it’s a platform where ideas can spark change and where local voices can echo on a global scale. For me, it’s not just about organizing an event—it’s about building a space where others can step into their potential and be inspired to act.
Ideas are only powerful when shared—and shared ideas can transform communities.
