Educator/Teacher, Idea generator

Bio

My name is Ahmet Emin Coşgun, and I work as an English teacher at Yönelt Koleji in Menteşe, Muğla. I studied English Language Teaching at Atatürk University, and I’ve always been deeply passionate about growth both in a personal sense and in the world around me. Coming from a background shaped by difficult conditions, I made it my mission to support others through education. Being a teacher isn’t just a profession for me it’s something I truly believe in. I’m also an active and proud member of P for C (Philosophy for Children), a well-respected philosophy club in Muğla that encourages young people to think critically, question deeply, and engage meaningfully with the world. Philosophy, psychology, and social systems are areas I care about deeply, and I believe they play a crucial role in real development and change. Human beings are naturally capable of growth I’ve experienced that in my own life, and I see it every day in my students. I’ve never been someone who could stay silent in the face of a problem. That’s why organizing a TEDx event feels so meaningful to me. I want to provide a space where my students can explore important issues, raise awareness, and offer thoughtful, research-based solutions. Even if we reach just one person, if we can make someone think differently or inspire action, that’s a huge success. As Kant once said, “Sapere aude – Have the courage to use your own reason.” That’s the mindset I live by, and one I hope to pass on to my students and community.

I'm passionate about

I am passionate about self-raising and helping others achieve their fullest potential. As both an educator and an individual who has experienced adversity firsthand, I understand the transformative power of self-development and resilience. Throughout my life, I’ve seen how overcoming personal challenges can lead to growth, and I believe that everyone has the ability to rise above their circumstances, no matter how difficult they may seem. My mission is to empower others, especially young people, to find their voice and believe in their own strength. I am committed to creating spaces where they can not only think critically but also act on their beliefs, raise awareness about important social issues, and actively contribute to building a better society. Whether it’s tackling mental health, gender equality, addiction, or other societal challenges, I want to guide my students and the younger generation to not only understand these issues but also to find ways to offer real solutions. I am also deeply passionate about philosophy, psychology, and the exploration of human nature. These fields provide valuable insights into how we can improve ourselves and our communities. They are the tools I use to reflect on life, understand others, and inspire personal and collective change. Ultimately, my purpose is to inspire others to take control of their lives, reflect on their inner strength, and take meaningful action toward making a positive impact. I believe that through self-reflection, resilience, and the courage to act, we can not only transform our own lives but also the lives of those around us.

An idea worth spreading

Everything in life can be obtained through pure will. I truly believe that human beings are capable of far more than they realize. No matter where we come from or what we’ve been through, we all hold within us a powerful force the will to move forward, to grow, and to create something meaningful out of our lives. Pain, struggles, and challenges aren’t things to run from they are what shape us, make us stronger, and push us to discover our true potential. In fact, it’s often through the most difficult moments that we learn who we really are. These experiences don’t break us they build us. Being passionate and committing yourself fully to a cause you believe in is one of the most noble things a person can do. When we dedicate ourselves to something bigger than ourselves, we give our lives direction, purpose, and value. As Marcus Aurelius once said, “You are a mortal. Act now. Don’t wait for life to reveal itself, create it.” This idea, rooted in Stoic wisdom, reminds us that time is fleeting and death is certain. We must not waste our lives waiting for the perfect moment or fearing failure. Every second is a chance to shape our story, to build meaning, and to leave a mark. Life doesn't owe us anything we must rise and claim it. I believe that we are, in many ways, the gods of our own lives. We shape our future through our choices, our actions, and our mindset. With enough belief, effort, and passion, there is very little that we cannot achieve. That’s the idea I want to spread: that willpower, purpose, and the courage to act now can transform not just a single life but entire communities.
