Bio
Heather Berlin investigates why the human brain sabotages itself — and the impact of losing control. A neuroscientist and clinical psychologist at the Icahn School of Medicine at New York’s Mount Sinai Hospital, she explores the neural basis of impulsive and compulsive psychiatric and neurological disorders with the goal of developing novel treatments. She hosts the PBS Nova series Your Brain as well as the Science of Perception Box podcast. Her book The Fine Art of Losing Control is slated for release in 2027.
