Gavin Weinberg

I’m Chief of Staff to the CEO at Longview Philanthropy, a non-profit philanthropic advisory and grantmaking org. We advise philanthropists and foundations around the world giving >$1 million p.a. We were founded in 2018 focusing on AI safety & governance and pandemic preparedness (years before COVID and the mainstreaming of advanced AI). We added nuclear weapons policy as a focus area in late 2021. Prior to Longview, I worked with an Oxford philosophy professor and in the US congress.

The work Longview does to help individual philanthropists and foundations support the people and organizations working to reduce risks from advanced AI, nuclear weapons, and pandemics Longview also hosts private events brining together top experts (eg Geoffrey Hinton, Yoshua Bengio, and Dawn Song) with Giving Pledge level philanthropists. We’re planning a Nuclear security philanthropy summit in 4Q25 I’d love to talk about it!
