Lewis Bollard directs the farm animal welfare strategy for Open Philanthropy, which has granted over $400 million to work reforming the worst practices of factory farming. An alumnus of Bain and Company, he graduated from Harvard College and Yale Law School.

Ending factory farming in our lifetimes.

We could solve factory farming in our lifetimes. This system -- which supplies almost all the meat we eat -- confines about 100 *billion* animals annually in squalid conditions. But we can do better. By sourcing our meat from higher welfare farms and alternative proteins, we can feed the world in a way that is better for animals, the climate, farmers, public health, and our personal health.
