Social entrepreneur

Bio

I’m Riya Dhiman, marketer by choice, storyteller by heart, and someone who always has way too many tabs open (both in life and on my laptop) I’m in my final year of BBA at ICFAI, leading Excuria Club, running Plant a Hope, and figuring out how to turn creativity into impact. I’ve worked with several organizations, won Infosys 20under20 for social impact, awarded as Miss IBS 25' and somehow manage to balance marketing, content, and chai-fueled deep convos. If there’s a story to tell, a brand to build, or an adventure to chase, you’ll probably find me in the middle of it!

I'm passionate about

I'm passionate about storytelling, impact, and turning ideas into something real. Whether it's through marketing, writing, or building initiatives like Plant a Hope, I love creating things that spark conversations and make a difference. I believe in the power of words, the strength of small actions, and the magic that happens when creativity meets purpose.

An idea worth spreading

"A single positive thought can serve a million hopes." - Riya Dhiman I truly believe that the smallest shifts in mindset can create the biggest ripples. We underestimate the power of a single thought; how one moment of optimism can shift perspectives, how one encouraging word can change someone’s day. In a world that often feels heavy, a simple spark of positivity can create ripples far beyond what we see. Hope isn’t always grand; sometimes, it’s hidden in the smallest gestures, the quietest reassurances, and the thoughts we choose to nurture. So, if one thought has the power to inspire, why not make it a positive one?

The TED story

I first became a part of TED-Ed through TED-Ed BBPSNM, Navi Mumbai, when I was in 11th grade, and I’ve been hooked ever since. What started as just an interest soon became a passion, organizing talks, curating ideas, and being part of a space where stories spark change. From my school days to now, TED has been more than just an organization for me; it’s been a journey of learning, sharing, and building something meaningful. Whether it was brainstorming themes, bringing speakers together, or (let’s be real) even making memes along the way. Every experience has shaped the way I see ideas and their impact. For me, TED isn’t just about standing on a stage; it’s about the conversations that stay with you long after the event ends. And after all these years, one thing remains the same, I still believe in the power of an idea worth spreading.

Things you might not know

People don’t know I’m good at making deep, philosophical connections out of the most random things, like a half-eaten mango or a crumpled receipt .I find meaning in the little things, things most people overlook. There’s a story in everything if you look close enough. Photography helps me capture it, writing helps me make sense of it, and together, they turn fleeting moments into something that lasts. I have a talent for reading people’s emotions even when they don’t say a word, and somehow, I always give the right advice but never take it myself. Oh, and if there’s a song stuck in your head that you can’t name? Give me five seconds, I’ll figure it out.
