Dr Margaret Murphy

I am a medieval historian specialising in the social and economic history of Ireland and Britain. I completed my undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Trinity College Dublin and worked in the Institute of Historical Research (University of London) and the Discovery Programme (Dublin). I have also been employed as a historical researcher for a number of archaeological projects. I joined Carlow College in 2009 as a lecturer on the English and History and Humanities Programmes. At present I have the role of Vice President for Academic Affairs & Registrar and continue to lecture and supervise dissertations on medieval history, local history and women’s history.
