Bio
Dr. Mirjam Staub-Bisang is Chair of the Board and Senior Advisor for BlackRock Switzerland, previously serving as CEO and on the EMEA Executive Committee and Senior Advisor to BlackRock Sustainable Investing. She has served on and chaired numerous boards of private and public companies and organizations in various industries. She is an investor and philanthropist and recognized thought leader and published author on sustainable finance.
Before BlackRock, Dr. Mirjam Staub-Bisang was the executive chair of a leading Swiss pension fund and led a Zurich-based investment firm and multi-family office which she co-founded. Earlier roles included senior positions in asset management and private equity at Commerzbank and Swiss Life in London and Zurich. She advised companies as an investment banker at Merrill Lynch and as a corporate lawyer.
Dr. Mirjam Staub-Bisang authored and co-authored pioneering works on sustainable investing, among which "Sustainable Investing: Risks, Regulations, Strategies" (Wiley 2012) and “Infrastructure as an Asset Class” (Wiley 2015). She is a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum and served on the WEF's Future Council on Nature-Based Solutions.
She holds a PhD in Law from the University of Zurich, an MBA from INSEAD and is a licensed attorney.
