A Glimpse into My Passions
My passion lies in the dynamic intersection of strategy and influence. I am driven by the power of engagement and communication, which is evident in my role as an Office Bearer for the Public Relations Cell at the Indian Institute of Management, Shillong. In this capacity, I strengthened external stakeholder engagement by 100%+ and increased the institute's media following to 120k+ across platforms. Furthermore, my strategic analytical skills are a core passion; I thrive on building scalable systems, such as developing financial models to assess the intrinsic value of companies and drive investment decisions. This drive extends to creative problem-solving and community impact, whether it's leading outreach for insurance awareness to promote financial literacy for Aditya Birla Capital or drafting educational games for a winter workshop at an underprivileged school. Ultimately, I am passionate about leveraging strategic thinking and effective communication to create tangible, positive impact, both in business and in my community.
The TED story
I decided to organize a TEDx event at IIM Shillong because of the profound personal impact TEDx talks have had on me. I distinctly recall watching TEDx talks such as ""Rural Innovations in India"" by Anil Gupta, where he highlighted the ingenuity of rural India and its potential for transformative change. Another talk that resonated deeply with me was ""The Northeastern Renaissance"" by Temjen Imna Along, which shed light on the unique opportunities and challenges of development in Northeast India, a region I am closely connected to. Additionally, Chip Conley’s TED Talk on ""What Baby Boomers Can Bring to the Workforce"" underscored the importance of intergenerational collaboration in workplaces, sparking my interest in promoting such dialogues.
These talks not only inspired me but also broadened my perspective on leadership, inclusivity, and innovation. I wanted to recreate that experience for the students at IIM Shillong by organizing a TEDx event, aiming to empower them with similar impactful stories and insights. My goal was to bring together diverse voices to raise awareness about critical topics, from rural and regional development to fostering multi-generational workplaces, ensuring that our community could benefit from these enlightening perspectives.
Organizing this event has been a way to channel the inspiration I received into creating a platform where ideas worth spreading could reach and impact many more.
