About Elissa

Bio

I'm Elissa, a social worker - community mobilizer, a girl scout, and advocate for youth leadership. With years of experience working in schools and community-based programs, I am dedicated to empowering young people to become empathetic, resilient leaders in their communities. Drawing from personal experience as a girl scout member, that believes that leadership starts with empathy and that every young person has the potential to create positive change. Through workshops, mentorship, and peer-led initiatives, I have worked to foster communication, self-awareness, and social well-being among youth. Whether it’s guiding youth in leadership development or facilitating meaningful conversations on social impact, I remain passionate about building a world where young voices are heard and valued. I envision a future where youth, empowered with the skills and confidence to lead, will help shape a more inclusive and compassionate society.

I'm passionate about

Empowering youth through leadership and communication. I care deeply about creating spaces where young people can grow, learn, and develop skills that help them navigate the world with empathy, resilience, and a sense of responsibility. As I am committed to promoting positive social change by nurturing the leaders of tomorrow, helping them understand the importance of community, empathy, and self-awareness, also trying to leave this world, a little better than we found it, as said our Scout First leader, Lord Baden Powell

An idea worth spreading

“The Power of Peer Leadership: Inspiring Positive Change from Within.” This idea focuses on the transformative potential of peer leadership, where young people take on roles to influence, mentor, and support each other in positive ways. By empowering youth to lead their peers, we can foster a supportive environment that promotes confidence, responsibility, and a sense of belonging. This concept is particularly valuable in school settings where peer pressure often shapes behavior, showing that peer influence can be a force for good. During my career, I’ve seen firsthand how peer-led initiatives, such as class representatives or team-building workshops; create ripple effects of positive change. This approach not only cultivates young leaders but also builds a culture of mutual respect and empathy, encouraging students to hold each other accountable and support one another's growth. I hope that this idea will be relevant especially to educators, parents, and community leaders looking to nurture leadership potential and promote emotional well-being among youth, emphasizing that sometimes the most impactful leaders are the ones standing right beside us.
