Bio
Native of Mexico City (April 10 1986), Ricardo Alberto Animas Molina has always recognized himself in the values of humanism, being art, in time and preference, his first egoic system.
Since childhood, he incursioned in scholar choir and theatre groups, participating with discipline in the multiple rehearsals, stagings, performances, festivals and contests corresponding to the almost seven years he completed in active. Parallel to this, he devoted himself to the study of piano, already offering by then soloist and accompanist performances at his school. He standed out permanently in infantile competitions of grammar, literary composition, history, declamation, and painting, besides obtaining –among many other distinctions– the medal to the highest academical performance of his generation (1998).
To enter the National Conservatory of Music (1998) was key to the humane formation of Ricardo; he had there an inaugural encounter with professional life – as a Piano Concertist student (1999-2000)–, with the academic environment and the nationalist educative policy. Already in his teen years, the oratorical art made him develop civically and socially, urging him to draft and present multiple speeches on topical subjects before diverse audiences and juries of the Republic, also forming him in the values of reflection, listening –prolonged and attentive–, healthy competition, plural and equalitarian coexistence. His perennial creative restlessness and love for colective intellectual work later got him involved in the algid but satisfactory labour of preuniversity editorial production and direction.
In 2005, Ricardo succeeds to fulfill an old craving enrolling in the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), of which he is at the present time graduate from the Latin American Studies College. The intention to develop and diversify his knowledge, besides trying to produce and integrate it, occupied him in varied study areas and objects –semiotics, aesthetic, education, indigenism, city, historical processes and theory of history, identity, frontier anthropology, Latin American philosophy, prehispanic art, popular and art music, architecture, Spanish American theatre, etc.-. Ricardo offered his social service at the UNESCO Office in Mexico, directly collaborating in the project "Mexico City, Educating and Knowledge City" and in a compendious document on educative legislation on an internacional scope; he has also been partaker of different collegiate and intercollegiate academical activities as public, coauthor, lecturer, and as organizer and pianist in these and other related events.
Ricardo counts with publications of diverse genres in universitary newspapers and magazines, as well as in anthologies; he's also coillustrator of a Mesoamerica specialized book, soon to be edited by the UNAM.
I'm passionate about
transforming my country with art, science and education. Compassion and peace.
An idea worth spreading
"Tradition doesn´t suppose an unconscious reality of survival of the
past, but the becoming aware of an acting past, of a living and subjectivizing heritage; it´s not improper legacy, synonymous with mummification or stagnant stiffness, or sterile nostalgia –palliative or vindicative–: Tradition, is the precious communion of the past and the forthcoming in an infinite present crossed by times... That is and has always been our face: confluence of vestige and utopia in this precise moment and place"
