I’m Ganesh Hiremath, a Master’s student in Management of Technology at TU Delft with a background in software engineering and product management. I’m passionate about building communities, creating inclusive spaces, and using technology and collaboration to drive positive, real-world impact. Through student leadership, mentoring, and initiatives around wellbeing and connection, I enjoy bringing people together and helping ideas turn into meaningful change.

I’m passionate about using technology and AI to create positive impact and build a better society. I believe innovation should go beyond efficiency and profit, and instead focus on improving lives, strengthening communities, and making systems more inclusive and human-centered. Through my experiences in technology, leadership, and community-building, I’ve seen how thoughtful use of tech can bring people together, amplify underrepresented voices, and address real-world challenges at scale. My idea centers on designing and applying technology responsibly—where empathy, ethics, and collaboration guide innovation—so that AI and digital systems serve people first and contribute to long-term, meaningful societal change.

I believe technology and AI should be tools for positive impact, not just efficiency or profit. When designed and used responsibly, they can strengthen communities, improve access to opportunities, and make systems more human rather than distant. My idea focuses on using technology as an enabler for connection—bringing people together, amplifying diverse voices, and solving real societal challenges at scale. From education and mental wellbeing to mobility and sustainability, I’m passionate about exploring how thoughtful, ethical tech can create meaningful change. By combining innovation with empathy and community-driven design, we can ensure that technology doesn’t just move fast, but moves society forward in a way that is inclusive, responsible, and truly impactful.

TED has been part of my daily life for years—so much so that watching TED talks while eating became a routine. Over time, it turned into more than just listening. Observing different perspectives, reflecting on ideas, and trying to apply them in small ways became a hobby. I found myself drawn to how simple stories could spark curiosity, empathy, and action. During my university years, I became part of the organizing team for TEDxNMIMS, where I experienced firsthand the effort and intention behind creating a platform for ideas worth spreading. Being surrounded by speakers, organizers, and volunteers who believed in meaningful conversations made me realize the power of community-driven dialogue. That experience shaped how I see ideas—not as isolated thoughts, but as shared experiences that grow stronger when people come together.

People don’t always know that I’m good at talking to people and spreading optimism, especially in unfamiliar or high-pressure environments. I enjoy listening to different perspectives, making others feel comfortable, and finding common ground, even when backgrounds or opinions differ. I’ve learned that small, genuine conversations can have a big impact—whether it’s encouraging someone during a difficult moment, bringing energy into a group, or helping people feel seen and included. This ability has helped me build strong communities, collaborate across cultures, and create positive spaces where people feel motivated and supported. I believe optimism, when shared sincerely, can be a powerful catalyst for connection and meaningful change.
