I'm passionate about
I am passionate about leadership, service, and creating meaningful impact within my community. As an IB Diploma Programme student at the Aga Khan Academy Maputo, I believe that loyalty, responsibility, and collaboration are essential values that guide both personal growth and collective progress.
I am particularly interested in empowering young people to take initiative and contribute to positive change. As the Co-Founder of Guardians of Earth, I work on youth-led environmental initiatives that promote sustainability and encourage responsible stewardship of our planet. In addition, as an Executive Organizer of TEDxAKAMAP, I help create a platform where ideas can be shared and young voices can inspire others.
My role as a Volleyball Assistant Coach also reflects my passion for mentorship and teamwork, supporting younger students in developing confidence, discipline, and collaboration through sport. Through these experiences, I aim to contribute to initiatives that strengthen communities and create long-term, positive impact.
An idea worth spreading
An idea worth spreading is the appreciation of education. Knowledge is power. Being able to have the best education in the country makes me feel lucky and grateful that I was able to get that and through this education, I can receive knowledge that I could never think of, and I can learn new things every day as well as have new experiences. With this knowledge, I can travel to any part of the world and make my voice heard. As a person who wants to pursue medicine in the future, the knowledge that I gained during high school will give me so many opportunities where I want to continue this process of learning and gaining new experiences.
The TED story
From a young age, when I first began learning English, I developed a strong interest in TED Talks. I would often listen to them while keeping a dictionary beside me so I could look up unfamiliar words and expand my vocabulary. Through TED, I gained valuable knowledge across a wide range of topics. Its diversity allowed me to explore fields such as neurosurgery, space exploration, and leadership, which broadened my perspective and curiosity about the world.
Later, after joining the Aga Khan Academy Maputo, I discovered that the school had a TEDx team that occasionally organized events. Realizing how meaningful TED had been in my own learning journey, I decided to become involved. I stepped into the role of Executive Organizer, with the goal of leading my team to successfully organize impactful TEDx events and create a platform where ideas can be shared and inspire others.
Things you might not know
People don’t know I’m good at organizing complex initiatives and bringing people together around a shared goal. While many see the final outcome of events or projects, they often don’t realize how much planning, coordination, and problem-solving happens behind the scenes. I enjoy structuring ideas, managing teams, and turning concepts into real initiatives that can have a positive impact.
I am also good at leading quietly—supporting others, identifying what needs to be done, and making sure a team moves forward effectively. Whether it is organizing events like TEDxAKAMAP, coordinating sustainability initiatives through Guardians of Earth, or mentoring students through volleyball, I often focus on making systems work smoothly so everyone can contribute their best.
