An idea worth spreading
Today sadly Nepal is one of the poorest and least developed nations in the World, with so much potential and after this major calamity and political disturbance we have moved backwards and there needs to be an eye opener that will charge people towards working together as a community as one and fighting back all the hurdles as one country to bounce back into a better life.
The TED story
The morning of 25th April 2015 shook the entire Nepal set alongside the majestic Himalayas. An earthquake of magnitude 7.9 rendered millions of people homeless and shattered. But this was not enough, the earth started testing the resilience of the Nepalese and rocked the nation again with another big shock of magnitude 7.4.
Ever since then people in our country have been panic stricken, undergoing trauma, fear and anxiety. Amongst which the children are the most vulnerable. Almost 1.7 million people are stil in urgent need of humanitarian assistance requiring clean water, shelter, and sanitation. Nepal is reeling under the after shocks of the disastrous Earth Quake. Children need vital Support and counseling to come to terms with trauma, shock and tragedy else it could leave them scarred for life.
I feel a Tedx event will be a great platform to connect to the minds of the youth in order to reach out to those 1000's who are still anticipating for our cooperation and assistance each day. And we need to spread the message to the youth that Nepal is under a high Tectonically and Seismically Active Zone and we all need to prepare for it well in advance.
