Bio
A Final year Law student, Sustainable Development and Social Justice Advocate
I'm passionate about
I am passionate about leadership, social justice, sustainable development and environmental law. My involvement in initiatives like the Millennium Fellowship, TEDxABU Kongo, and my leadership roles at ABU reflects my commitment to driving social impact, promoting equity, and empowering communities. I’m also deeply engaged in critical legal and societal issues, such as ownership and control in the oil and gas sector, constitutional functions of the Nigerian military, youth mental health, and the intersection of environmental protection and legal frameworks.
Sustainable development and environmental law are key areas where I aim to explore solutions for balancing economic growth with ecological preservation, particularly in resource-dependent regions like Nigeria. Through research and advocacy, I strive to contribute to the development of policies that promote renewable energy, environmental justice, and sustainable practices. Let me know how I can further refine or expand on these goals!
An idea worth spreading
You can't change everything. But you can change yourself, and push you into the world.
The TED story
My TED story begins in 2019 when I volunteered through the Creative Writers Club, Kongo, at TEDxAhmaduBelloUniversity. That experience was transformative, sparking a desire in me to one day host a TED Talk. The energy, ideas, and passion I witnessed left a lasting impression, showing me the power of a platform like TED to inspire and create change.
However, it was my involvement in the ABU Law Clinic that truly cemented my decision to take this dream further. Through my work at the clinic, I saw firsthand the impact of advocacy and the importance of amplifying voices, especially on issues of justice and equality. This inspired me to seek a license to host TEDxABU Kongo, a platform where these critical conversations could thrive.
TEDxABU Kongo represents the culmination of my passions—storytelling, leadership, and advocacy—and is an opportunity to challenge societal norms, empower communities, and ignite transformative ideas. This is my TED story - a journey of inspiration, commitment, and a vision to create a platform for meaningful change.
