Bio
My name is Lyn, I am a marine biologist that also decided to work on sustainable tourism in Riviera Maya, México. I have been living in Playa del Carmen for almost 12 years and I've seen the city grow and develop. As part of my professional work, I have contributed to make this growth more sustainable. I am currently involved on different projects, like a research about quality on the tourism sector, raise funding for a local educational organization, ecotourism practices on community-based companies and organizing TEDxCancún. I have also a business that promotes health and a strong team working towards wellness.
I am avid reader, I like to draw, knit, make handcrafts and I love outdoor activities.
I'm passionate about
Doing things that have a meaning.
Reading.
Learning new things.
An idea worth spreading
From making a huge technical report to knit a blanket, you are capable of doing ANYTHING, if you only want to learn. It can be really difficult at the beginning, but you can do it, you just need to believe it.
Areas of expertise

The TED story
I have been a huge fan of TED Talks for many years, and two years ago I added the TED logo to my dreamboard, asking and wishing to be involved in a TED event. This year I had the opportunity to be involved on the TEDxCancún event coordinating the event. It was GREAT! I am so grateful to be involved in such an amazing project that touched so many people's heart. I will continue involved in TED events as much as I can.
