An idea worth spreading

Generative AI offers a unique opportunity to redefine the relationship between humans and machines, shifting the focus from automation to augmentation of human intelligence and creativity. This emerging technology has the potential to reshape work and creative processes, freeing individuals from mundane tasks and enabling them to focus on higher-level thinking and innovation.

The TED story

Ever heard the saying, "Those who can't do, teach"? Well, in the world of TEDx, I flipped that script. For years, I was the tech wizard behind the curtain at TEDxArxiduc, making sure PowerPoints danced to the rhythm of brilliant ideas. It was exhilarating, being backstage with these incredible minds. But, as I listened to their rehearsals, a tiny voice whispered, "You could do this too." Now, don't get me wrong, I wasn't aiming for the spotlight. My superpower was honest feedback. Speakers would come to me, nervous wrecks clutching crumpled notes, and I'd help them transform into storytelling ninjas. I'd call out the fluff, challenge their assumptions, and push them to dig deeper. It was like a mental boot camp, but with fewer push-ups and more "aha" moments. One day, the organizers asked, "Hey, Joan, why don't YOU give a talk?" Me? On stage? The introvert in me shrieked, but the tech geek in me saw an opportunity. I'd been experimenting with generative AI, and it was blowing my mind. It was like having a creative partner who never slept and always had the best ideas. So, I took a leap of faith and stepped into the spotlight. My talk was about how AI is not just about doing things faster or cheaper, but about unlocking new levels of creativity and problem-solving. It's not about replacing humans, but about amplifying our potential. And, in that moment, as the audience nodded and smiled, I realized that the tech wizard had become the storyteller. My final message echoed through the room: "It's not about doing the same things better – it's about doing BETTER things!"
