Nicolas Berggruen

Nicolas Berggruen is the Chairman of the Berggruen Institute on Governance, a political think-tank. He is also the Chairman of Berggruen Holdings, a private company, which is the direct investment vehicle of The Nicolas Berggruen Charitable Foundation. Born in Paris, he grew up in France and in Switzerland, before moving to the US in 1979. Through the Berggruen Institute on Governance, an independent, nonpartisan think tank, he encourages the study, design and implementation of systems of good governance. He is a founder of the Institute's 21st Century Council; a member of the Think Long Committee for California; and a member of the Council for the Future of Europe. Committed to leaving a legacy of art and architecture, he sits on the boards of the Museum Berggruen, Berlin, and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Berggruen Holdings has operations, real estate and financial investments worldwide.
