My name is Gustavo Carvalho Teixeira, I am a Production Engineering student at the Federal University of Triângulo Mineiro - UFTM. I have always been attracted to the idea of optimizing processes, maximizing efficiency and creating solutions that add real value to organizations. Production Engineering can play a vital role in improving business and transforming ideas into reality, which is why I decided to pursue it as my professional career. Having been a professional athlete in the past gave me several characteristics such as dedication, commitment, communication and leadership. I am fluent in English based on the Cambridge test and after living in the United States for a year. I also speak intermediate Spanish and basic French. Being part of a Junior Company gave me a lot of practical learning about what happens in a business experience. Additionally, I am constantly seeking to learn and stay up to date on the latest trends. I believe that continuous learning is fundamental to success in our ever-evolving profession in life.

The idea that "the farther you dream, the farther you can reach" emphasizes the importance of having bold ambitions and envisioning grand goals. Dreaming big is not just about setting high targets, but about expanding your own sense of what is possible. When you allow yourself to dream big, you prepare yourself to face greater challenges and strive harder to overcome obstacles. Big dreams act as a compass, guiding your actions and decisions while helping you stay focused and motivated. They inspire creativity and innovation, allowing you to explore new possibilities and find innovative solutions. Moreover, setting ambitious goals often drives you to seek out the knowledge, skills, and connections needed to achieve them. Even though the journey to realizing these dreams may be filled with challenges, the vision of a grand goal can provide the determination needed to persist and overcome difficulties. Therefore, dreaming big not only broadens your horizon of possibilities but also strengthens your ability to turn those possibilities into tangible realities.

I got into the habit of watching some TEDs when I was younger, and I've always loved the content exposed by the speakers during the talks. When I got into college I discovered that they held an annual TEDx event there. In 2023, a good friend of mine took on the responsibility of being the general director of TEDx at our college, and later told me how rewarding it is to be part of such an incredible event. Since then, my interest in TED has grown even more, and today I am completely in love with it.

I´m a great swimmer! I was a professional swimmer during 9 years of my life. I´m also a great public speaker, or a nice person to talk with in general.
