The TED story

At the 2015 TEDxKids@ElCajon event I volunteered as the backstage manager. It was so fun to help prepare our speakers for the stage. Our first set of speakers were students. Their topics covered LGBT equity to Iraq Refugee experiences. The students were eager to share their stories and excited to be on stage. The next session of our event was adult speakers. The adults were almost frightened of the stage. They were doing breathing exercises, and reviewing their presentations in their minds. The amount of nervousness in the adult group far surpasses the students. The students lived in the moment of their stories. It goes to show how courageous children can be when sharing a story that is so close to their hearts.
