Bio

Willie Williams designs & directs live events with an emphasis on multimedia performance. He is best known for his 40-year creative relationship with rock band U2 which was instrumental in introducing large-scale, multiscreen imagery to concert touring. His work with George Michael, David Bowie & R.E.M. has also been highly respected as both conceptually and technologically ground breaking. Theatre credits include video design for Prima Facie in the West End and on Broadway, for which he won a New York Drama Desk Award. Performing arts projects include collaborations with Complicite, Kronos Quartet, La La La Human Steps and Laurie Anderson. Public works include lighting installations within Canterbury Cathedral, on London’s Southbank and a permanent exhibit at Cleveland’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Museum. Willie Williams is a founding partner of Treatment Studio, London, a design agency specialising in the creation of multimedia experiences for concert tours, festivals, art installations, experiential spaces, branding campaigns and theatrical productions.
