I'm passionate about
Empowering others through education and creating positive change. As an educator, I strive to help students grow both academically and personally, guiding them to unlock their potential and think critically. I believe that education has the power to transform lives, and I am dedicated to nurturing curiosity and building self-confidence in my students.
Outside the classroom, I am committed to community development, particularly in providing opportunities for young people to learn, grow, and discover their talents. Through organizing children’s holiday programs, I aim to support and shape future generations.
As a poet, I use my words to inspire, connect, and share my experiences. I believe in the power of poetry to spark reflection and meaningful dialogue, helping others see the world in new ways.
An idea worth spreading
Food as a Way to Connect and Share Stories: Food is so much more than just nourishment; it’s a bridge that brings people together, allowing us to connect across cultures and generations. For centuries, food has been a vehicle for storytelling — whether it’s around a dinner table or gathered around a fire. The stories we share while preparing or enjoying food help preserve history, pass down traditions, and strengthen bonds. Every dish carries with it the flavors and memories of the past, often telling a story of where we come from, what we value, and how we relate to each other. I love how food fosters a sense of togetherness, helping us to build connections and friendships. It creates a space for stories to be shared — stories of family, heritage, and personal experiences — and allows us to celebrate diversity in ways words alone cannot. Through food, we communicate love, culture, and history, creating shared moments that help us understand one another better.
Things you might not know
Beadwork and making mats from grass (isicamba). I’ve spent a lot of time perfecting these crafts, and they allow me to connect with my heritage and creativity in unique ways. The intricate patterns in beadwork and the process of weaving mats from grass are not only relaxing but also serve as a way for me to tell stories and preserve traditions. Though these talents aren’t always obvious to others, they’re something I take great pride in, as they reflect both artistry and a deep connection to culture.
