My name is Lakshana and I am currently a dedicated lecturer at MDX MRU. I contribute to the academic development of students by supporting teaching, research, and administrative activities. I am very passionate about continuous growth, collaboration, and making a positive impact within the academic community and the people around me

Public speaking, getting to know people, learning new types of music, listening to inspiring stories and FOOD!

I was raised with the belief that failure was never an option, always striving to excel and achieve beyond expectations. The day I experienced failure, I felt as though everything had come to an end. It was in that moment that I discovered the true meaning of resilience and courage. Similarly, organizing a TEDx event was once just a dream I had as a student at the very institution where I now work. Today, I have the priviledge of turning that dream into reality each year, creating meaningful experiences for students and the wider community.

I have a dream that one day I will create a lasting impact on the people and communities around me—an impact strong enough to inspire others to rise, believe in themselves, and pursue their own paths with courage. As a university student, I had a dream of organizing a TEDx event. At the time, I lacked both the support and the confidence to bring it to life, and it remained just an idea. But dreams have a way of staying with you. Today, that same dream has become my reality. Alongside a dedicated and passionate team at my university and workplace, I am now proud to host a university TEDx event—transforming what once felt impossible into a platform that empowers students and uplifts the wider community.
