Bio
Faraz Khorsandi is a visionary leader, entrepreneur, and advocate committed to driving meaningful change through connection and community engagement. As the past President of the Lakehead University Student Union (LUSU), he championed student rights, equity, and long-term strategic growth, collaborating with university administration and government officials to shape policies that benefit diverse communities.
With a background in civil engineering, Faraz has worked on infrastructure projects in Northern and Indigenous communities, emphasizing sustainability, technology-driven solutions, and community partnerships. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to co-found HDL Global Inc., a Persian-Indian grocery store in Thunder Bay, creating a cultural hub that fosters inclusivity and representation.
Faraz believes in the power of “connecting for change”—bridging people, ideas, and industries to create lasting impact. His advocacy for BIPOC communities, international students, and marginalized groups has led him to collaborate with Members of Parliament (MPs), Members of Provincial Parliament (MPPs), and municipal leaders, focusing on education reform, environmental sustainability, and equitable opportunities.
Through leadership, entrepreneurship, and community-driven initiatives, Faraz continues to build networks that inspire change, foster collaboration, and create opportunities for growth.
